We had the pleasure of meeting 5 year old Skye Hall when we delivered his hot tub wish. Skye had been diagnosed with a brain tumour a year to that day. The brain tumour had gone, but his brain was being destroyed by the treatment he had been given.
I have never met a more determined 5 year old. Although he was paralysed from the neck down, he still wanted to live life to the full.
Two days later, Skye passed away. His final words to his fans were “Make the most of what you’ve got.” He did get to go in his hot tub. His parents Sally and Andrew kindly emailed me to tell me he was the most relaxed and happy he had been for sometime.
Blue Skye Thinking is supporting research and treatment into childhood brain tumours – a massively underfunded cause.
I have been helping Blue Skye Thinking since meeting the Hall family in 2014 and have recently been asked to join the board of trustees. Such a honour and privilege. Every single penny raised goes towards saving lives. If you would like to find out more, please visit www.blueskyethinking.org Thank you, (Lisa)
